Last evening saw a fantastic turnout for what may be described as one of the highlights of our club’s year thus far, notwithstanding the forthcoming St Annes Open on 21st December (only 3 places available).
Our special guests, the organisers of the unique online Animal Backgammon Tournaments, The Fox, Mr Lawrence Jones with his most elegant lady Kathryn the Zebra were in attendance for the inaugural Animal Live Tournament.
Double elimination 5 pointers, the final stages to be contested tomorrow evening at The Links Pub, St Annes.
As you may expect, high drama prevailed, Oliver was beaten in a dramatic fightback from his tentacled father, whilst the Fox tore the Dog apart and the Muntjac Deer ate the sweet Angelfish as a mere canapé.
Next year we would encourage every Animal Backgammon player to arrive wearing an appropriate outfit. Animal Rules.
